SME Day, 5 June 2007, Brussels

Small Companies, Big Ideas

A truly unique event in the Brussels calendar – bringing together Europe’s best small companies and entrepreneurial stars of the future with leading policy makers, academics and venture capitalists.

The aim of the Day is to drive a practical, results-oriented action plan for a successful SME growth model in Europe, and demonstrate a range of successful SME innovation and partnership models in action.

SME Day events will focus on:

  • Opportunities and challenges for high-growth small businesses in Europe
  • Driving the policy agenda to ensure new start-up stars of the future in Europe
  • How SMEs are attracting and channeling investments to accelerate innovation
  • How public-private partnerships are accelerating the innovation cycle for SMEs

SME Day is about understanding the challenges and the opportunities that small & medium business entrepreneurs face across Europe while engaging with policymakers from the EU, Member States, and local governments.

SME Day will offer a series of forums where businesses, policymakers, venture capitalists, and academics will be able to engage, discuss, and collaborate on the challenges facing them while exploring ideas on how to accelerate innovation to build a stronger knowledge-based economy across Europe.

SME Day will also allow businesses to showcase their work at the SME Innovation Exhibition Area.

The objective of SME Day is to engage, to listen, to voice, and to define clear objectives needed to support an action plan that will accelerate SME growth and innovation across Europe. The end goal is to empower SMEs in driving more growth and jobs for all.
